ANCCE & RFEAGAS Join Forces to Coordinate Preliminary Aspects of the GO EquigenIA Project

During the most recent meeting, the participants reviewed the planning schedule for the upcoming months, while also analyzing the activities foreseen for this project.

Held in Madrid, at the main offices of Spain’s Royal Federation for Select Livestock Associations (RFEAGAS), the various participants reviewed the progress of the activities planned within this innovative initiative for the equine sector. Likewise, they assessed the status of the established objectives for the supra-regional GO EquigenIA Project.

The GO EquigenIA Project seeks to develop a digital platform based on genomics and artificial intelligence applied to breeding, animal health, and the genetic improvement in the equine sector. This tool strives to facilitate the decision-making process for by horse owners and breeders with the use innovative technologies that contribute to improving the competitiveness, sustainability, and profitability of stud farms.

Arancha Rodriguez, Director of the PRE  Stud Book, attended the meeting to represent ANCCE.  Also in attendance was Manuel Luque, the RFEAGAS managing director, together with Teresa Antoñanzas from the Technical Department. Throughout the meeting, and after reviewing the activities on the project calendar, the group discussed the various communication options, outreach, and the transfer of knowledge that will be carried out to present the objectives, progress, and results of this project to the sector. This timely meeting was part of standard activities to guarantee the proper coordination of the GO EquigenIA Project, in an effort to maximize the impact of the results obtained within the group and ensure its correct development.

The GO EquigenIA Project is a multidisciplinary operational group includes ANCCE together with RFEAGAS and the firm Nunsys S.L. INNEARA, a consulting firm, operates as the project coordinator, in conjunction with the University of Cordoba and the University of Sevilla. 


Both ANCCE and RFEAGAS have emphasized the enormous importance of collaboration among representative organizations, research centers, and technology companies. Such cooperation promotes innovative solutions that address the equine sector’s current needs while fostering its modernization and future development.
