Technical specifications for the electronic identification and registration of equine animals
Please remember that the current EU Implementing Regulation 2021/963 regarding the identification of equines states that all electronic identification means shall indicate:
a) A three (3) digit country code compatible with ISO-3166 standards;
b) An individual numeric code for each equine animal.
Therefore, all microchip codes used in each country must comply with these requirements, as specified in Appendix 1 of the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/963.
