SICAB moves dates to major Spanish holiday from the 3rd to 8th of DECEMBER

The SICAB Organizing Commission has decided to alter the dates of International PRE Trade Fair to coincide with an important extended holiday in Spain—the weekend of December 6 (National Holiday celebrating the Constitution) and December 8 (Religious Holiday dedicated to the Immaculate Conception).

Thus, the traditional SICAB dates during the last weekend of November have now been moved a week later to December.

Several reasons have motivated this decision: it facilitates and favors the participation of a greater number of breeders and enthusiasts from all over the world at this important international PRE event.

Having surveyed numerous visitors in recent years, the results indicated the fact that coinciding with a major holiday, which traditionally becomes a long weekend, would allow visitors from all over Spain to travel to Sevilla on those dates to attend the event. In addition to the above, the people of Sevilla and its metropolitan area would not be limited to the weekend, thus being able to visit throughout the week.

On the other hand, previous SICAB dates were a serious inconvenience for enthusiasts and breeders from a current main emergent market—the United States, which is a country with the largest number of PRE horses and foalings outside Spain. Many years, SICAB Thursday coincided with Thanksgiving—probably the most family-orientated celebration of all those held in the USA—which seriously limited the attendance of Americians.

SICAB will continue to run six days, from Tuesday to Sunday, at the Fair Grounds know as Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos in Sevilla.

We hope this change will contribute to a larger attendance, both in terms of the general public as well as participants, who will be able to enjoy our wonderful horse and the city of Sevilla, to the benefit of everyone.
